Lalit Jain’s Journey to Powering Archery’s Digital Future

Lalit Jain’s Journey to Powering Archery’s Digital Future

In the world of competitive archery, few stories reflect both personal triumph and professional transformation as clearly as that of Lalit Jain — a national champion, All-American archer, and now a rising force behind the scenes of American archery events.

Lalit’s journey began in Moonak, a small rural town in Punjab, India. Without formal training or access to advanced facilities, he discovered archery through a simple school PE class. What started as a curiosity soon turned into a lifelong pursuit. Driven by self-learning and relentless practice, Lalit climbed India’s competitive ranks — earning multiple national medals, and eventually representing his country at the South Asian Archery Championship, where he secured a silver medal.

His consistency and dedication opened doors to international opportunities. Lalit was recruited to compete at Mount Marty University in South Dakota, where he not only dominated on the field — becoming a U.S. National Champion and earning the prestigious All-American Award — but also completed a Master’s Degree in Coaching and Leadership.

From the Shooting Line to the Server Room

But Lalit’s vision extended beyond the shooting line. While many athletes transition out of sport quietly, he chose to stay — and rebuild it from the inside.

Today, Lalit works full-time as the Scoring and Events Coordinator at the National Field Archery Association (NFAA), where he plays a pivotal role in the technical execution of national, sectional, and local events. He oversees scoring operations using the IANSEO system and has led the expansion of live results and scoring automation across the country.

“Lalit understands this sport from every angle — as an athlete, a coach, and now a systems innovator. He’s not just running events — he’s helping redefine how they’re experienced.”

As archery enters a new era of digital sophistication, Lalit Jain stands at the intersection of tradition and innovation — a competitor-turned-contributor whose career reflects the very precision and passion that define the sport itself.
